Further research (you do your own; I did it and so can you!) clearly demonstrates that Ilap was, at the time that Jethro Homer flourished (probably sometime between the 10th and 7th centuries BCE) and wrote "The Iliad," located on the coast of what is now Turkey and in pretty much the precise location where Schliemann found "Troy"!!!! Ilap was moved by the action of plate tectonics to its current location following the explosion of Thera, which shook it loose from its anchorage (so to speak).
