A grazing mace, how swift the splat!
That slew a wretch like thee!
How round was the head that now is flat --
Done in by my mace and me.

That slew a wretch like thee!
You're lying there upon the ground
You've left the field to me.

Doubtless there are dozens of local variations, as filks bring out the -- verse -- in people.
