If you're desperate for a song of spring flowers, check out poet Bliss Carmen (b. New Brunswick, mostly worked in New England or NYC or somewheres thereabouts) and make up a tune. His verse is nearly always a very simple meter. He died long enough ago that most of his stuff should be public domain. He wrote a whole volume about April this and thats. If you want some to read, e-mail me. Many of them are short. He writes about May as well. Love and flowers come in to a lot of his stuff. Maybe you'll start a whole new genre of dead-poet-folk!
