A friend has just returned from his last tour of duty in Afghanistan. He describes Afghanistan as being 'Dark Ages England but fought wuth modern weapons'. He also points out that it took England the thick end of 500 years to become a viable state! His worry for his friends still in the army is that Iraq could head down the same path, with them still in the middle.
