Wow wow wow, and more wow.

I've just gotta say that tonight's concert (Liz Carroll/John Doyle) was amazing. What a pair! Fiery fiddling and great strumming (John has a bit of a bobblehead thing going, except he does it with his whole body! :)), not to mention some mean flatpickin' tunes. Just great!

It was a sold out show (and then some--we had some extra people who gave us puppy dog eyes, and well, what can you do? Drag up every available guitar stool, that's what). Thanks to any 'Catters who attended (that means you, Stewart!) Hope to see you at future events!

Speaking of future events, here are a few for your consideration:

DRĂ…M In Concert at Dusty Strings
Thursday, December 7th, 7:30 pm
This should be something else! Folk harp, nyckelharpa, wooden flute, and Swedish bagpipes give this duo their distinctively Swedish sound. More info will be forthcoming!

The Dusty Strings 21st Annual Holiday Open House
Saturday, December 9th, 9:30am-9:00pm
Free live music all day long! This is Dusty Strings' annual way to say "Thank you" to all the customers who keep us going through the year. We have a series of great local artists playing in the store throughout the day, and treats/beverages in the back rooms for schmoozing. In the interests of full disclosure ;) I should add that my friend Davy and I are the opening act...we get to warm up the crowd! It's absolutely my favorite gig of the year, even if it does involve singing at 10:00 a.m.

Next on the list:

Tony McManus & Randal Bays
Thursday, December 14th @7:30pm, $18.00
Randal Bays is our own local Irish fiddler and guitarist extraordinaire, and Scotsman Tony McManus is a well-respected master of the Celtic guitar in his own right. Tickets will go on sale Monday. PM me if you have any questions!

Cheers,

Molly
