I was in Croatia in 1991, just after the end of the shooting war with Serbia. The friend I was staying with had a broken toilet seat and there was no way to replace it - in the former Yugoslavia, not only were most of the arms factories in Serbia, so were all the toilet seat factories. I suppose Tudjman knew about the first when starting a fight but maybe forgot about the other one.
