Years ago Sports Car Graphic magazine had an awesome story about a race car mechanic who had built a mid-engined Pontiac powered sports-racer.
He also built 'shine runners on the side.On a bet he filled the extra tank with 'shine to make a run because the revenoors had gotten themselves a Ferrari.
Well the cops almost caught that sports racer when it ran out of gas.Our hero switched tanks and flat ran away from the cops.
He burned the engine up in the process as that 'shine was just too hot a fuel for an internal combustion engine.
