In the 60s the Barnsley Folk Club was housed in the Room At The Top in Barnsley Civic Centre. The Civic Centre was reputed to be haunted. I must admit, in all the many times I went there, the ghost didn't have the guts to appear. Back in those days, though, the club was probably the best attended event in Barnsley and VERY loud, so we probably scared it away.
