Speaking as an average American...lol...I'd say it's gotta be "Danny Boy" with "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling" at second place. 90% of the songs you folks named here, I've never heard of. You're all way too knowledgable for me (!) but Danny Boy sprung to mind right away. That leads me to believe that other average Americans might think along the same lines...
