These awards aren't perfect but if you scroll back a few years, its not as if they've handed out the gongs to non-entities is it? No one's ever going to agree on who deserves an award ( and ,for Pete's sake, John Tams got one last year and he's always set my teeth on edge) but isn't that the point? There is no oracle, least of all in the ramshackle, informal, multi-disciplined world of folk music. Your cup of tea isn't necessarily mine. Even in the comradely world of folk music, egos rage.We all want to be in the tent. I wish I bloody was.
