One song that has always stuck in my head is sung by Ed Van Ronk and was recorded in the 60's on Folkways (I think, don't quote me on that) It sounds like something Patrick Sky might have written, but again, I have no documentation.

I listened to it on a borrowed record about 35 years ago, and it has been with me ever since, but please forgive me if the words have gotten a little gibbled over the years. So have I, for that matter.
