Scrump, I agree that "I don't think you can call The Marvellous Toy a Christmas song, even if it does get played a lot at Christmas."

The same is true for Jingle Bells, Frosty the Snowman, and a whole raft of songs listed in this thread.   Of course, many of them are winter songs.

Funny, but while I've now seen "Scarlet Ribbons" included in the tracklists of some Christmas albums, I never associated that song with Christmas. I knew the song for several decades before I ever even realized some people did.

Roger Miller's song "Little Toy Trains" is another children's/toys song that's thought of as a Christmas song, though I don't think it mentions Christmas or Santa (does it?).
