Well the country dwellers make money out of the incomers.
I was in the Post Office (15 years or so back when my nearest village still had one) and saw a notice about a planning application to turn a farm into a small housing development. I asked if the people who lived near were objecting. They weren't, the farmer had also put in plans for a large-scale pig farm, and they knew which they prefered.
