They passed a road kill measure here in CA that allows you to finish off a suffering animal and take the meat (bullet holes NOT allowed). So now we have, or rather had (thank God they moved recently) a neighbor that put apples and pears in the road in front of their house to keep them supplied in venison. We made DFG aware of it but they said there was little that could be done. That is, nothing could or would be done.
