I'd like to recommend the CD 'Come Write Me Down: Early Recordings of the Copper family of Rottingdean' Topic TSCD534, 2001. I haven't checked but I would guess that this is still readily available from the Topic website (?)
As the title suggests this CD contains some excellent early recordings, made in the 1950s and 60s, by the likes of Peter Kennedy, Seamus Ennis et. al. It also comes with two booklets of notes by such luminaries as Reg Hall, Vic Gammon and Steve Roud - these notes alone are worth the price of the CD - fascinating stuff!
