A few years ago, my senior School was asked to come up with a mission statement. A smart person pointed out we'd had one for quite a while, ie our Latin motto, a hexameter Juvanal had recast from the Greek. It's on the foundation charter of 1551....

It's unlikey that the bureacracy took any notice of this, but that's not the point!
