Thread Name: Lyr ADD: Slaney Valley
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Slaney Valley lyrics please
It is with great sadness this weekend in the County of Wexford and especially Enniscorthy where the Slaney waters flow as we saw the passing of Padge Keogh as mentioned by the Mariner "The song was written by a local man called Keogh, father of the famous hurling star and Guinness rep, of the 50s and 60s Padge Keogh".

I've being playing this tune since I first learned the accordion in the early 70's but not until yesterday evening did I learn as a result of a conversation over a pint reminiscing the life & times of Padge and his hurling career that it was his Father (I think he was also named Padge) that penned the lyrics (not too sure about the tune; perhaps someone else could clarify that).
