101!!!

Explaination of urban foxes.

Due to the decline in natural prey and the ease of foraging for scraps in bins, foxes are moving into city areas. We have, nearby, a thing called 'The Greenway' - a green corridor that used to run from the edge of the City of London, all the way to Tilbury Docks. It's the line of the overground section of the Northern Outfall Sewer, taking waste from the centre and east of London to the swerage treatment plants at Stratford and Tilbury, built in the 1860's. There is still a green corridor between Bow and Becton.

Foxes move in from Epping Forest, Wanstead Flats and Hackney Marshes which is more their natural habitat, to inhabit this 'Greenway'. They keep the sewer rats down and supliment their diet with forgagings from local takeaway food outlets, rummaging in bin bags and gardens. It's not uncommon to see a fox trotting down the road early in the morning or hear one snuffling round the front garden at night. It'll be breeding season soon so we'll start to hear the vixens huffing (sort of like gruff barking) and the dog foxes yowling.
