Exeffingactly !! Here we go again. If singers didn't mimic the voices of other singers then hardly anybody would sing !
Not just Folk and Blues but what about Opera ?
The different social, cultural and geographical backgrounds of characters in Opera couldn't be more different from those of the performers.
This sort of thing has been dealt with on other threads but I find it fascinating.
