Just out of curiosity, can anyone cite a genuine instance of a member of the general public reporting a suspicious object that actually turned out to be a bomb?

Seems to me that, as I said above, any bomber worth a shit is not going to plant a bomb that looks like a bomb. A bomb is going to be inside a discarded beer can, not out in the open with flashing lights saying "Look at me! Look at me!"
