If all drivers drove within the legal limits and regulations of the law, then we wouldn't have to have speed cameras and restrictions etc.

If you don't speed - what is the problem?

How many of these MAD drivers have seen young children horribly injured and in pain where they have been caught by a car whose driver lost control because they were going too fast?

Recently an elderly lady died round the corner of my house whilst crossing the road. She was crossing at a designated crossing, but a young boy racer (well known in the area) was going to fast to stop in time. The lady got knocked down and eventually died of her injuries, suffering frompain in the last few hours of her life.

How is this excusable? Is this a reason to do away with the speed measures?

I don't like the idea of speed cameras and the way some roads are laid out with preventative measures, but if it helps to save lives from irresponsible drivers, that is the cross we all have to bear.

IMO opinion anyone who speeds while driving, or drives while drunk, should have an automatic intent to murder charge put on them. We all know the dangers and the risks of driving at speed or drunk or without a license etc.

Maybe it seems harsh, but 5 weeks is an insult to the lives and memories of many road traffic deaths.

Nicci (who would also make prisons intolerable to prevent anyone wanting to be in one - vote me for PM, and send them Down).
