I was named for my Mother's Brother who had died not too long before, but they reversed the names to Alfred Thomas because of something to do with the initials (preferring ATM to TAM). Incedentally, despite the order, I've always been 'Tom'
I'm just glad that I wasn't named after my Mother's eldest brother (who died as a child) - I could cope with Jack as a name, but I might have had a real problem with Vierstraat.
