I shall not tell of the chap from DC who was enjoying a pipe or so with friends when he suddenly decided he HAD to get to New York. He friends tried to reason with him, telling him that he was stoned out of his mind and that he'd get picked up for speeding, but he insisted that he'd be very, very careful.

Off he went.

Sometime later he saw the inevitable red lights in his rearview mirror and pulled over. The officer started the conversation:

"Do you have any idea how fast you were going?"

"60?" the guy queried.

The officer shook his head.

"70?"

"No."

"80?"

Another head shake.

The guy was frantic. How fast HAD he been going?

"90???"

"No," said the cop. "You were going twenty-five miles per hour, and you've got traffic tied up clear back to Baltimore!"
