I think I'd have to concur with the Jerry Lewis tendency, based on the irritation I felt as a young lad watching his films on TV. This was during that uncritical period I think we all have when I thought that nearly all comedy I saw on TV was funny.
Jerry Lewis was an exception. As they say here in Cheshire, he was 'too daft to laugh at'.
