Guest - true, but you miss the point. Nothing the British/English ever did overseas (or at home for that matter) can be considered good. Ever. A slightly folky example - I was at an academic conference in Cork about five years ago and there was a trio of Irish girls (two fiddles and a concertina)providing the background music during the reception. I mentioned to a colleague (English but living in Ireland)that the concertina is (apparently)the only musical instrument invented by an Engishman. I was told that was 'dangerous' talk and I should keep it to myself.
