Thread Name: Lyr Req: Alice, where are you going? Upstairs to..
Subject: RE: Alice, where are you going? Upstairs, to tak
Came across this thread recently while checking out "Down the Plughole" (I recently found NHDave singing it on a tape I made last November) and then while talking to my mother in Milwaukee a couple weeks ago, she brought up "Alice Where Art Thou Going" which she knew from her childhood in Stetsonville, Wisconsin during the 1930s. Don't know why it came to mind now in her reminiscing, but she used to sing it to us when we were kids.

Her words are different from what's been posted here, though, and she just mailed them to me.

Here they are:

Alice, where art thou going?
Out to take a shower.
Your form is like a toothpick
And your breath is very sour.
Alice slipped in the bath tub
Slipped on the soap.
Oh my goodness, oh my soul,
There goes Alice down the hole
Alice, where art thou gone?
