no I think it may have been Houston Wells, although that's not the name that jumps up and bites me in the bum.

Johnny Horton was relatively well known (Running Bear, North to Alaska, nobody had heard his version of Battle of New Orleans, but we knew he'd had the American hit). It wasn't him.

The kind of music, you'd hang round the waltzers at the fair, long after your money had run out - just to hear it really LOUD!

now thats what I call folk music.
