And as one who played lagerphone at the Woolshed one May (it didn't get to the Albert Hall until June, that year) and who had to peel his fingers off it one by one, despite the jet heater going flat out, I can reassure newcomers that Canberra can get rather nippy over winter. But not usually at Easter.

He might be in short-sleeved shirts but I rarely se him not wearing that photographers' fishing jacket thingy with all its useful pockets. For a man with so much energy it's probably all the insulation he needs!
