I'm too far out of civilization (in NS) to get either. We could get cable TV, and did, but ditched 'em for sat.TV, since it was a bit cheaper and better. Our dialup, landline and cell are all Aliant. The cable co. serves landlines nearer town, but it was discovered after Hurricane Juan that Aliant's landlines were sturdy and available thoughout, regardless of the power situation, while the cable based phones were out for the duration, sometimes weeks. We will stick with the safer alternative.
