Thanks, Stewart. I see now that the lyrics as posted by Wolfgang are correct, as sung by MacConnell and as posted on his website -- but with more correct punctuation.

The point is, there are some mistakes in the DT lyrics. I'd suggest just copying the lyrics as posted by Wolfgang and replacing the version in the DT with them.

(Yes, that troublesome line in the second verse is
"To bring back the rights we're denied,"

not "To bring back the rights were denied" (DT version)
or "To bring back our rights where denied" (Wolfe Tones version, which probably stemmed from seeing "were" printed and trying to make sense of it. Pesky little critters, those apostrophes. )
