Thread Name: BS: The 1960s was crap.
Subject: RE: BS: The 1960s was crap.
I was listening to the radio when they announced that FDR had died. I was 10, and I remember being worried that our form of government was finished. He was a democrat, we lived in a democracy, etc.
By the time the 60s came around I was a member of the establishment. Captain of the EXPLORER, republican, thinking that the students at Kent State were asking for it...God, was that really me?
I read a book titled "Black Like ME" what an eye opener. I remember thinking that Rosa Parks was a hero, and that hasn't changed. I remember thinking, let all those yellow bastards run off to Canada and shoot the ones who try to sneak back after the war. Today, I'd be showing them the way!

Yesterday, Jacqui and I watched a film on tv called "A Time to kill",based on a book by John Grisham. A great story of how things were, and how they have changed.

I remember when the Beetles put the Kingston Trio out of business. That didn't set good, but of course, they were ready to go anyway...I'm rambling. Sorry.
