Alanabit - for some reason, i always assumed he said something racist as in made a racist joke which nobody laughed at. I was just a little kid when the song came out but as a young teen i inherited a whole slew of their records from a babysitter and I listened to them all, learning hboiw to play as many as I could. I just assumed the song was a pop plea for tolerance along with the vaguely Christian implications I described before
