This may be a good thing. I got my car stuck in the soft mud in the side lane a few days ago. If it freezes solid, I will be able to get the car back on the paved road.

I'm in the same fix the German army was in in October '41. Stuck fast in the mud. They prayed for colder weather. When it came, it turned out to be even colder than what they'd had in mind, however.
