AWG, I don't see that you did anything wrong. A lot of people over-reacted in a nonsensical way. You don't owe anyone any apology.

They should apologize to you for being so narrow-minded, "folkier than thou" and I think rude. You were expressing your enthusiasm for what I consider to be a great music group and I agree with that. I see no reason why that enthusiam should be squelched or censored.
To those who object to this, I say "get a life".
