We visited the Vimy memorial two years ago. The sheer scale of the ridge and the battle was hard to take in. Tanglefoot (the Canadien band mentionned above) were invited this year to sing at the memorial and I sang the song this weekend in Barnsley. Anyone who visits the battle site couldn't fail to be moved. Much of the area is untouched from when the battle occurred as there are still too many unexploded shells to make clearing it safe. Eerily as we pulled out of the car park the first track to play on the stereo was ''Vimy'
