To Ron , It's because you have more people in the U.S.A.
They are the ones who made him an icon , and it's also about acceptance , If a singer becomes 'big' in the U.S.A. it almost guarantees that it will happen for them everywhere else.
To use Christy Moore for example , the man is hugh here in Ireland , but not so in America , that's my point
