LH--I've seen "Pobre cito" as two words. And, for some reason, I like the way it looks. YMMV.

I sometimes wonder if using it ever causes anybody to try to look it up. Or to gnash their teeth at the insidious spread of Spanish in the US of A.

I do find it quite handy. And it's shorter than "Mir kommen die Traenen"
