Thread Name: Do you sing to your dog (or cat, or...)?
Subject: Do you sing to your dog (or cat, or...)?
When I call mine to come eat her chow (on the rare occasions when she's not already there waiting) I sometimes sing:
Come and dine, the Master calleth, come and dine
You can feast at Jesus' table anytime
He who fed the multitude, changed the water into wine
To the hungry calleth now, come and dine
While preparing her kibble I often find myself singing:
Bought me a dog, the dog pleased me
Fed my dog under yonder tree
Dog goes Bow! Wow!
Cat goes fiddle-i-fee
For 14 years I would joyfully croon to our beloved retriever, to the tune of Pony Boy:
Molly dog, Molly dog
Molly is a very good dog
She can bark, she can growl
She can wag her tail

Molly dog, Molly dog
Such a silly dog
Diggity diggity diggity dog
Molly's our Dog
For the last three years I've been subjecting our ten year-old rescue dog, Wandie Waggintail, to it -- mutatis mutandis.

Anyone else annoy their pets this way?
