I wouldn't say that sing "to" my dog(s), but I do practice while they are in the room. Sometimes they stay; sometimes they leave. I suppose that along with super-perceptive senses of hearing and smell, they might have some sort of dogvoyant sense of whether I happen to be "on" or "off" during that particular session.

I was once temporarily adopted by a stray Siamese cat which was decidedly anti-music. As soon as the guitar strings began vibrating, it leaped on to the nearest piece of furniture or my lap and began trying to damp the strings with its paw--"Oh, you Masters of Wa ..." thwack! "Come All Ye Fair, and ..." Bumpff! I can only surmise that its mother was startled by a hurdy-gurdy during the pregnancy.
