Thread Name: Moor & Coast-Whitby- Who's going??
Subject: RE: Moor & Coast-Whitby- Who's going??
Apologies Jo Jo, I was reponding to the title of the thread, which isn't "What's the festival like?", if that HAD been the title I would have passed comment as such.

But since you desire that information, I shall divulge....

I have only missed one Moor & Coast festival, it's run by a swell committee who are all fully involved in the festival during its hours of operation, the sessions & singarounds are always good fun, the ones in the programme tend to lean more towards singers sessions however you can pretty much guarantee being able to find a musicians session in a pub or two that ISN'T in the programme.

There are a wide variety of guests to see at concerts in appropriate venues, with more than able sound engineers at the helm, the only criticism being that the Friendship club's Saturday night concert is always full to bursting due to the venue being a little small.

Whitby itself is a lovely place to be, full of history and wonderful scenery, a walk down to the beach, as long as the sun is out of course, is a pleasant way to blow out the cobwebs and often there is a fully dressed ship, the Grand Turk being a fairly frequent visitor (Unless someone wants to correct me on that) in port which makes the whole event seem so appropriate.

The camping facilities are excellent, showers available in the morning for their intended use and also in the evening for a proper use due to the absence of a food tent, the site has security and the festival has built up a regular following of capeable stewards who know what they're doing.

Is that better?
