April 23rd is St George's day and patriotic Englishman around the world are to celebrate their national day. But how do we celebrate? What do we do? The Irish have their parades and get drunk and the scots pipe in the haggis and get drunk. What, however, do the English do? Should we have a roast beef meal with plenty of ale while playing our Steeleye Span CDs in the background? St George's Day use to be a big festival in England until the 18th Century, evidently. I wonder how they celebrated? Anyone with any ideas?
