Hello again all!

I have two more upcoming concerts to announce, which should please a pretty wide variety of tastes! For those bluegrass enthusiasts among you (and I fancy there are one or two on the 'Cat somewhere ;)), we're having David Grier in concert this Saturday night, April 28th (full details below). The next night (or, as Monty Python would say, "And now for something completely different!"), we're having a fantastic Klezmer harp and clarinet concert by Duo Controverso (again, details below). Both concerts will be accompanied by same-day workshops as well. Here are the full details:

DAVID GRIER IN CONCERT
Saturday, April 28, 7:30 pm, $18

Tim O'Brien calls David Grier "a front-runner in the bluegrass pack, with his beautiful sound and staggering technique... a truly original artist." Grier's splendid career has placed him in the company of Clarence White, Doc Watson, and Tony Rice as one of the most innovative and supremely gifted flatpickers of all time. Inspired by Bill Monroe at an early age (his father played banjo for the Blue Grass Boys), David has garnered international praise for his solo and duet albums and has appeared on two GRAMMY®-winning recordings. He is also the guitarist for the band Psychograss. David will also present a Bluegrass Guitar workshop from 1:30-3:30 pm on Saturday; cost is $50.)

Duo Controverso
Annette Bjorling (harp) & Kurt Bjorling (clarinet, basset-horn)
Sun, April 29, 7:00 pm, $15 (or $10 for same-day workshop participants)

Let yourself be captivated by world-renowned musicians Kurt Bjorling (who has performed and recorded with the Klezmatics, Brave Old World, Itzhak Perlman, and the Chicago Klezmer Ensemble) and Annette Bjorling, the "World's First and Only Klezmer Harpist". Duo Controverso is acclaimed for a dynamic and creative approach to music, interweaving traditional melodies and modern thoughts. The program includes Klezmer, Turko-Greek melodies, jazz and classical music.(Kurt and Annette will also present a workshop, Klezmer Music for Harpists and Other Instrumentalists, on Sunday from 12:30-2:30 pm. Cost is $35, and workshop participants receive a discount on that evening's concert.)

Cheers!

Molly

P.S. I hope Deckman's house concert went well...sorry I had to miss it! :)
