When someone tells you that a song you have written, has made them laugh, cry or touched them in some way, for me, that is worth more than any money...well, more than a £5 at least.:-)
Plus, it is nice if your songs don't ALWAYS just have the 'crying' effect on people, as it can give you a bit of a complex!
Many people write songs, almost to order, to sell to a particular market...I have only heard a few of George's songs, so far, but I get the impression that he does not write to please others but writes from the heart and perhaps because of that his songs inspire a lot of emotion in people. Looking forward to hearing more of George's songs on Friday.
