I was doing an 'open mic' session at a local pub every Wednesday and the first time I was there I plugged my 1964 Gibson in - it was OK but a bit too bassy. For my second spot I simply used two mics and everyone agreed it was a much richer, more even sound, so I didn't bother to plug it in again. You do have to keep still, though. I like sitting on a tall stool which I think helps!
