It depends on the mic used wand its placement. Ideally you would want to use a condenser placed about a foot away and pointing between the hole and the bridge. Condensers require phantom power though and most open mic venues don't use them.

So you'll likely have to play through a dynamic mic which is bassy and less responsive. But most people won't notice.
