Ah! Indeed, that is the real question. Not "who done it"...not "how"...but "why"? There are a number of interesting theories about that. There appears to have been an intense hatred of both John and Robert Kennedy by a lot of very powerful people. Some of those people were in the government, some were in the CIA, some were in the US military and defence establishment, some were in private industry, some were in the Mafia, some were in Castro's Cuba, some were among the Cuban exiles in the USA.

There were so many possible motives and so many benefits to so many powerful people that it provides an absolute avalanche of persuasive theories as to who would have done it and why.

I wouldn't claim to know which one is right, but yes, I'd say that it definitely appears that the members of the Warren Commission were involved...not necessarily in planning the assassination, but definitely in making sure that false and misleading information was provided to the media and a coverup was accomplished.

This would have had to be an operation orchestrated at very high levels of the government in order to have the clout to persuade such people to keep their mouths shut. Many powerful people would have to have been involved.

If such events had occurred in Russia (to a Russian premier), instead of here on home ground, no one in America would have any doubt that a coup had been accomplished by a high level conspiracy in the government itself, and then covered up by official means. It would be obvious.

Kennedy was at war with the CIA, had fired their top people, and was preparing to completely demolish and destroy the CIA. I figure that was what signed his death warrant...but that's just my personal favorite among the theories. I can't say I know, I'm just making my best guess, that's all.
