Incidnetally, there is now a wonderful tribute CD of Kris Kristofferson songs called 'The Pilgrim - A Celebration of Kris Kristofferson. It has some truly beautiful and memorable covers. You can get it on iTunes for $9.99

Right now I'm listening to Willy Nelson's cover of 'The Legend' which has just rolled over into a great version by Kris of his own song 'Please don't let the story end' - a wonderfully weary but sentimental song if ever there was one.

Another remarkbale song is Patty Griffin's cover of 'Sandinista'. it only took another 25 years for the Sandinista revolution to have some kind of peaceful resolution after the right-wing reaction to it. It makes the lyrics that much more poignant.

I was pleasently surprised by gretchen Wilson's version of 'Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down' - she's more than just a redneck marketing scheme afterall. Who knew? Certainly not I.

One more good cover to mention - Russel Crowe's respectable cover of 'Darby's Castle'. It's a great song and he does it well. You don't often here this one anymore.
