Hello again everyone!

Ouch! Is it really possible that I've forgotten to post the amazing event we have coming up this weekend? Shame on me! All I can say in my own defense is that it's been an extremely eventful and distracting few weeks *sigh*.

Anyway, for all you Wings fans (or just fingerstyle guitar devotees), Dusty Strings will host a concert and workshop with the legendary Laurence Juber this Saturday! As always, here are the full details:

Fingerstyle Guitar Workshop
Laurence Juber
Sat., May 19, 1:30-4:00 p.m., $40.

An entertaining, interactive, multi-level presentation with an emphasis on the value of melody, tone and texture in creating a musical experience for the guitarist. Two-time Grammy®-winning guitarist Laurence Juber performs, demonstrates his technique, and discusses arrangements and original compositions from his extensive repertoire. Topics to be covered are warm ups, playing more efficiently, basic fingerstyle patterns, fundamentals of harmony, and altered tunings, including DADGAD. Fingerstyle is the main right hand focus, however flatpicking is covered too.

Laurence Juber In Concert
Saturday, May 19th, 7:30 pm, $18

Laurence Juber may be best known for his three-year stint as the lead guitarist in Paul McCartney's band Wings. However, his career as a solo artist, composer, and arranger stretches far beyond the Wings years; he has been a featured studio musician on the soundtracks of many Oscar®- and Emmy®-winning films and television series, and is a two-time GRAMMY® award winner. He has worked with George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Paul Williams and Al Stewart (among many others), and has been voted Fingerstyle Guitarist of the Year by Fingerstyle Guitar Magazine. Laurence has published several instructional books and DVDs, and is also a columnist for Guitar World Acoustic magazine.

As always, we hope to see you there!

Cheers,

Molly
