When one starts out, one pretty much has to write one's own reviews and descriptions of one's music. People looking for an angle-- a good one or a reason to exclude-- will think what they think. One writes what one hopes will appeal to the market one is pursuing. As one catches on, others will write reviews that can be used instead, and these will tend to have a little more credibility. Just part of the climb up the ladder to better gigs, I think.
