It was on one April morning (when I was running late for work because I'd belatedly realised that my mobile phone battery was flat, and waited a while at home to recharge it), that I unexpectedly met Les Barker on platform 3 at Baker Street station (Metropolitan line).
He'd just been to the US Embassy to sort out his visa. He was heading northbound and I was heading south, but he just had time to tell me that they asked him what he was going to do in the States. When he said that he's a poet, they asked "Have you done this sort of thing before....?"
Les's website doesn't have tour details, but I guess Mrs Ackroyd or Tim Readman would know where he's appearing on his current US tour.
